Litigation Support Project Analyst (LAW FIRM)

One of the top and most mature Am Law litigation support departments in the country is seeking a Litigation Support Analyst for their New York office. This role will support colleagues in the EDLS department on in-house e-discovery and litigation support projects. The Analyst will support the EDLS matter management processes by monitoring, documenting, reporting and performing quality assurance checks on active matter documentation to ensure completeness and matter management workflow compliance. Essential duties and responsibilities 
  • Active Matters Compliance Quality Checks: Monthly detailed review of a segment of  documentation for active matters, this includes but is not limited to:  Matter documentation and reporting, processing and production request forms , ensuring proper signoffs are completed, and required metrics have been collected and documented
  • Processing and Production Request Forms Validation: Perform daily processing and production forms validation for weekly follow-up reports delivered to team members with incomplete or inconsistent matter documentation
  • Data Disposition Support: Perform quality checks on physical media identified for disposition, ensures physical media identified by the evidence custodian corresponds to the matter queued for disposition
  • Vendor Invoice Approval Process Support: Assists with the vendor invoice approval process, processes vendor invoices for review and approval by project managers, associates and partners
  • Matter Configuration Support: Configures new matter standard templates and matter information database entries for EDLS project team, processes matter supporting documentation such as contracts and NDAs within EDLS collaboration platform and maintains EDLS client matter status information database
  • Evidence Desk Backup Support: Performs all evidence custodian duties as EDLS’ backup resource when the EDLS evidence custodian is out of the office due to  illness or vacation
  • Other Support: Additional Internal Controls team support duties may be required as needed
  • In addition, responsibilities related to maintaining firm and client information are to be adhered to by all employees, this includes complying with the firm’s information security policies, protecting firm assets from unauthorized access, disclosure, modification, destruction or interference, and reporting security events or potential events or other security risks to management
Qualifications
  • Strong customer service skills, thorough knowledge of the litigation lifecycle, and familiarity with the use of technology to support litigation efforts
  • Highly organized, detail-oriented, versatile, and able to communicate effectively and appropriately with attorneys, clients, and external service providers verbally and in writing
  • Performs well both independently and collaboratively, able to multi-task and manage competing priorities, and takes responsibility for the accurate and timely completion of assigned projects
Education and/or Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree and some experience in a litigation support role at a major law firm
  • Experience with records management and information governance desired
