Are you an IT professional who likes to help people and solve problems? Our client, a cyber insurance company, is seeking an IT Support Technician to support their client on a contract basis. In this role you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting all computer hardware and software, will configure ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and will execute projects designed by the Director of Information Technology. The successful candidate will need to be on call as needed and be courteous and responsive to the needs of the site on various high level and priority issues. This position is onsite in New York City and does require all staff to be vaccinated for COVID. Resumes to [email protected].

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots all computer hardware and software
  • Resolves routine and non-routine problems through standard troubleshooting procedures and recommends and implements solutions
  • Configures ongoing usability of desktop computers, peripheral equipment, and software
  • Executes projects designed by the Director of Information Technology
  • Provides end–user, routine maintenance, and infrastructure support
  • Consistently monitors network performance
  • Ensures desktop computer interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems including associated validation systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers, and administrative systems
  • Actively monitors and responds for all IT security and support queries and adheres to all service management principles
  • Establishes and manages the network system at various new sites and desktop computers
  • Oversees e-mail and user account management (Microsoft Exchange and Active Directory)
  • Rebuilds and images computers (hardware and software)
  • Caters to various sites audio visual needs, including testing, setup, and repairs
  • Updates, manages, and transfers inventory and data at assigned location
  • Manages telecommunications system (PBX and VoIP)
  • Stays on call as needed and will be courteous and responsive to the needs of sites, no matter the request or time of day
  • Will always be ready to be dispatched on troubleshooting calls to sites on various high level and priority issues
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification, Skills and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Associate’s degree with some experience, preferred work experience in an educational setting
  • Must have a passion for technology
  • Strong PC and Mac troubleshooting skills
  • Must have strong customer service skills, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of commonly used IT concepts, best practices, and procedures
  • Familiar with computer hardware, boards, processors, chips, AV equipment, software, and applications
  • Knowledge of Blackberry/BES and Windows-based servers, LANs, WANs, VPNs, Backups, and remote connections
  • Understanding of basic Internet applications, including the Web, and TCP/IP networking concepts
  • Ability to think critically, quickly, and strategically
