Top three takeaways from privacy salary trends in 2021 & Q1 2022:

  1. The average increase of base compensation at the point of hire in 2021 for mid-market privacy professionals was 22%.
  2. The inflation rate is holding steady at around 7-8%, adding inflationary awareness to job seekers’ self-valuation.
  3. Altogether, companies can expect data privacy professionals to command—and get—upwards of 25-30% increases from their current compensation in 2022.

27% of privacy professionals relocated for roles in 2015, compared to just 3% in 2021.

Top 3 reasons relocation is down across industries:

  1. Two-career households are more common, making it more difficult to pick up and move for just one person.
  2. The pandemic brought about the rise of work-from-home employment.
  3. Moving for a job often means relocating to a large city — and many people are trying to exit metropolitan areas for more affordable living.

Top 3 reasons to start meetings 5 minutes after the hour/half-hour:

  1. Send the message that time matters;
  2. Increase the chance that meetings start and end on time with everyone present;
  3. Reduce frustration in the team.
