TRU Staffing Partners Announces Recipients of 2013 Scholarship Program

TRU Staffing Partners, a leading search firm representing talent and opportunities in the e-discovery and litigation support space, today announces the recipients of the highly sought-after 2013 scholarships for legal technology training and education.

This is the second year TRU Staffing Partners has offered the Scholarship Program. The Scholarship Program Advisory Board, consisting of industry experts and AmLaw 200 hiring managers, came together to anonymously assess applications based on key criteria such as professionalism, written communication, technical aptitude, passion for the industry and articulation of thought.

Recipients were notified last week. Below is a listing of the scholarships and the recipients of each:

Document Technologies, Inc./LitWorks™

Six full scholarships in 2013 to attend the Certified Litigation Support Professional program – a four-day course. Recipients are:

  • Mark Calaguas – Santee, CA
  • Josh Levy – Montclair, NJ
  • Nancy Blandford – Atlanta, GA
  • Chassidy King – Chicago, IL
  • Jared Brown – Watauga, TX
  • Brian Rawson – Florham Park, NJ

Six full scholarships in 2013 to attend the Certified Litigation Support Project Manager program – a three-day course. Recipients are:

  • Marina Penrose – Palmdale, CA
  • Joel Leon – Carteret, NJ
  • Nancy Blandford – Atlanta, GA
  • Fabian Menendez – New York, NY
  • Mark Miller – Santee, CA
  • Regina Brooks – Merrillville, IN

In addition, after courses are completed two of the scholarship recipients will be selected for six-month paid internships with DTI as entry-level litigation support analysts.

Georgetown University School of Continuing Studies Paralegal Program

Two full scholarships to attend the Advanced Litigation & Trial Technology course – a 3-hour course. Recipients are:

  • Yanira van den Broeck Nieves – Washington, DC
  • Amanda Swafford – Flowery Branch, GA

One full scholarship to attend the e-Discovery course – a 32-hour course. Recipient is:

  • Ian Deitz – Baltimore, MD

One full scholarship to attend the Legal Project Management course – a 42-hour course. Recipient is:

  • Jennifer McNinch – Arlington, VA

LIU Post Paralegal Studies Program

A full scholarship to attend a brand-new Litigation Support/e-Discovery course – a 35-hour course. Recipient is:

  • Bennett Katz – Woodland Park, NJ

Bryan University

Partial scholarships to the e-Discovery Project Management Certificate Program, an eight-month curriculum, are still pending and will be announced at a later date.

  • Augustine Porras – Bellflower, CA

One 10-hour lesson plan. Recipient is:

  • Ruth Campuzano – Los Angeles, CA

In addition, eDiscovery Journal will select recipients of the scholarship program to document their experience on the eDiscovery Journal blog – http://ediscoveryjournal.com/blog/. Several recipients will be followed over time, and their experiences in the program will be tracked, as well as their career trajectory in the e-discovery industry following completion of their education.
