Top 3 takeaways from IAPP's 2021 Biennial Salary Survey:

  1. The average salary among privacy professionals has increased by more than $6,000 since 2019.
  2. US salaries are highest at the largest firms and in large urban areas.

  3. Privacy salaries are highest in the software and technology industries, and lowest in education and government.

  1. The proportion of paid positions for contract work on LinkedIn grew 26% from the first half of the year.

  2. Postings for contract work jumped 36% from May to November.

  3. Permanent positions rose just 2%, and full time increased only 6%.
