July, August, and September saw more hiring than Q1 & Q2 combined with the average job seeker considering multiple external offers at point of hire (yet again).

Top 3 TRU Trends from the State of the Privacy Job Market Q3 2023:

  1. A 4-5 day in-office requirement extends searches by 60-90 days for mid-market professionals.
  2. Working remotely/hybrid is the still the top motivation of job seekers in 2023.
  3. July & August are typically the slowest months for hiring in privacy YoY, but were the most voluminous in 2023.

Nearly half (42%) of companies that mandated office returns witnessed a higher level of employee attrition than anticipated, and almost a third (29%) of those enforcing office returns are struggling with recruitment, according to a recent Unispace report.

Top 3 motivations for job seekers 2023:

  1. Working remotely/hybrid.

  2. More challenge/opportunity.

  3. Cash compensation.

During September, mid-week law firm occupancy peaked at 72.9%, while Mondays and Fridays averaged 57% and 42.1% occupancy, respectively.

Top 3 trends from October Eye on ESI:

  1. July, August, and September saw more hiring than Q1 & Q2 combined.

  2. The average point-of-hire salary for an ediscovery PM dropped to $135K over the last 60 days.

  3. 27% of TRU contractors have been asked and accepted conversion to FTE in the last 120 days.
